The log and the checklists cost nothing and always will — they are the reason boats join. The paid tiers pay for one thing only: the depth of her memory, and the years of it she can hold. There are no adverts anywhere, and nothing about you or her is ever sold.

Against what a boat already costs

Anyone who keeps a boat keeps a spreadsheet eventually. A year of Log, founding price, is 87 pence a week — fixed for good:

What you pay anywayTypical
Pump-out, each visit£15–25
BSS examination, every four years£100–175
Blacking, each slip, every few years£600–1,200
Winter heating, a season£420–660
Licence — rising 4.85% this April on a five-year glide path£1,000+
Mooring near the cities, a year£2,000–5,000+

A year of Log costs less than a year of IWA membership (£57 at the door, checked October 2026). That is the company we price with — the waterways family, not the app store.

Questions people ask

Is the free tier really forever?
Yes — the log, the 14-day count, the BSS and winter checklists and their reminders. If the day ever comes that this cannot hold, the boat’s book exports and goes with you; her memory is yours, and it outlives any service.
What counts as a conversation?
A reply of hers. Reading your book, the counts and the checklists are plain code — unlimited on every tier, including Free. Only her conversation is quoted.
Why a year, and not monthly?
Boats are yearly creatures — licence, insurance, BSS. The year keeps the arithmetic honest and the price low; there is no monthly trick to un-do.
What happens when the 500 founding places are gone?
New boats pay £59 a year. Yours stays at £45 for as long as her book stays with us — that is what founding means here.
Do I need a card to try it?
No. Start free, no card. The ask comes only when you choose a paid tier, and the price is on the screen before anything else is.
